I've thought a lot about this idea in the past few months as I have transitioned into my "grown-up job." Some discoveries I've made along the way....
1. Being a grown-up is hard.
2. Financial independence is a blessing and a curse -- with independence comes responsibility.
3. No matter how hard you try, you will make mistakes.
4. No one has time to teach you the things you really need to know.
5. Worrying causes back and neck pain.
6. Most of the time, work is just that, work.
7. Your boss won't know what he wants you to do until you do what he doesn't want you to do.
8. The moments of small victory should be cherished.
9. Work-life balance is an urban legend --- when I have a life I think about work and when I work I have no life.
10. Some days are good and some days are bad, but in the big scheme of things, having people you love and who love you will usually outweigh all the bs at work.
